Well done to Lee Hyland on being the 3rd player to make the semi-finals of this season's Singles Matchplay event. He plays either Nick Game or Bruce Maguire.
| 30 August |
Congratulations to Jim Johnson and Barry Nelson on being drawn out together for the Steward's Cup. Bad luck Kinda Ready - a big dent in the pension plan!!
| 26 August |
Well done Lee Hyland on winning the July Stableford. Unfortunately there were insufficient entries for a prize. Better luck for Georgie Booker who wins the prizes for both the July and August Medals with prizes awarded. Well done John Beeden on winning the August Stableford with 39 points. (Come on Kinda Ready on Saturday 9.45!!)
| 24 August |
Well done to Ron Tuckey in making it to the semi-final of this seasons Matchplay singles competition.
| 22 August |
I do hope some of you had a punt on Kinda Ready yesterday. He won his 3rd round heat at 11/4 by four lengths. The best you can get now for him to become probably the best greyhound ever (winning both the English and Irish Derby is 16/1. The Quarter Finals are next Saturday. The dream continues........
13 August |
Well done to Daren Johnson (or more importantly his dog Kinda Ready) on getting through to the 3rd round of the Irish Greyhound Derby last night. You can still get 40/1 with Ladbrokes on him making it a Derby Double. 3rd Round next week!!
9 August |
Congratulations to Vicky and Frank King on winning the Mixed Pairs competition on Sunday.
5 August |
Kinda Ready won his 1st round heat of the Irish Derby (at 5/1 or even more on the Tote), beating one of the overall favourites for the whole event. His odds will surely come tumbling down - watch this space. Round 2 starts on Thursday and Kinda Ready is drawn in heat 2 Trap 4. You can get 40/1 on him winning the Irish Derby.
31 July |
Please endeavour to get your matchplay singles and doubles fixtures played. None of the Singles Quarter-finals appear to have been played and today was supposed to be the deadline. Don't forget the monthly Medal and Stableford competitions each month. These provide you with another way of getting your handicap down (or up) in addition to the 'majors' and if enough players enter you can win a money prize. Kinda lucky? Three of Daren's greyhounds feature in some big races in the coming couple of weeks. Running in the Irish Derby is Kinda Ready (100 to 1 or better at the moment). Kinda Handy runs in the Peterborough Derby (Semi tonight - did not qualify for the final).
25 July |
Congratulations to Brian Harris on winning this season's Captain's Cup. His net 66 was 3 clear of the rest of the field and has earned Brian a hefty 'cut' to his handicap (no committee cup for you this year).
18 July
Well done to Gerry Hartigan and Barry Nelson on reaching the semi-finals of the Matchplay Pairs, finally overcoming messrs Cragg and Randall on the 20th hole (needed a birdie). It proved not so easy for Kinda Easy in the final shown live on Sky last Thursday. He missed the break and could manage only 3rd. Come on Kinda Ready (Irish Derby)!!
11 July |
Congratulations to long-standing member John Hearn on becoming this year's Club Champion. Well done, also, to Vince Fay on winning the Rabbits competition.
10 July |
I hope some of you took notice of the 'tip' below, as Kinda Easy won his semi-final in fine style and has his favourite berth in Trap 6 for Thursday's final. The best price available at the moment is 7/4 with Stan James, otherwise its 11/8 or worse.
4 July |
Well done to Tony Oliver in shooting the lowest net score (67) in the first round of the club championship. Les Davy and Terry Johnson were the only other players with net scores in the 60's.
2 & 4th July |
Good luck to Daren's dog 'Kinda Easy' who runs in the William Hill Grand Prix starting on Saturday at Sunderland. If he continues to show the brilliant form of recent weeks 8/1 looks excellent odds (but you have to look around). If he wins this event his odds for retaining the St Leger will come in from the current 20/1 (and I'll be booking another holiday!!). Kinda Easy missed the break but still did enough to make it through to the Semi-final next week. He is currently at 6/1.

29 June |
Several names were not put onto the Entry Sheet. An amended draw has been put on the Competitions Page.
19 June |
Congratulations to new member Steve Percival on winning the Jake Moxham Trophy. Well done to Pat Knights on winning the May Medal. |
13 June
Well done to Tony Mason on winning the Len Morris Trophy. His handicap is almost as fast as the BP share price. He won the competition by 5 shots from Andrew Bell. Both players were only 1 over gross. New members continue to join the club - welcome to Dara O'Carrol, D Bigsby and T Garrihy. The club has just spent nearly £500 having the honours boards refurbished/extended. To help cover this cost and maintain the standard of the prize table we will be holding raffles after the next few competitions with prizes donated by the committee. Please remember to bring an extra couple of quid along with you!!
10 June |
Jake Moxham Please note that there is only a gap of 6 days between our next two competitions. The draw for the Jake Moxham Trophy will take place this Sunday (after the Len Morris Trophy). So make sure that your name is on the Entry Sheet for the Jake Moxham on or before Sunday. Either phone the Pro Shop or email me or Frank.

2 June |
Micky Prosser Memorial Golf Day Well done to Daren Johnson and his team of helpers for organising another great day.
31 May
Well done to Dave Bignall on winning the Michael Cross Memorial Trophy with 43 points - you might be able to play in the Club Championship with your new handicap!! Don't forget to check your time for the Micky Prosser Memorial on Friday. Please note that the 2nd round of matches in the Singles and Doubles Matchplay events are due to be played by 27 June.
22 May |
Well done to Ron Tuckey on being the first to win through to the Quarter Final of this season's Matchplay Singles event. The following 1st Round matches do not appear to have been played: Singles: G Hartigan v C Hartigan B Maguire v R Murrock N Game v J Ouzman Doubles: B Maguire & P Tame v P Butler & L Vitali These matches ought to have been played by 2 May (Doubles) and 16 May (Singles). Please let Steve Cragg know if these matches have, indeed, been played. Otherwise all players are liable to be disqualified. Start times for the Micky Prosser Golf Day are in the Pro Shop.
16 May |
Well done to Paul Coates on winning the PAGS Trophy. His 46 points was four clear of the rest of the field. N Simpson came first in the guests trophy with a respectable 37 points. Steve McKeown still leads the Order of Merit. Check out the top 30 on the relevant page. Well done to Colin Hartigan and Steve McKeown on being the first pair through to the Qtr Final stage of the Matchplay Doubles. Kinda Easy had a bit of bother at the first bend and went out of the Derby last night. He'll just have to make do with the St Leger!
15 May |
Don't forget that every month there is a Medal and Stableford competition. With sufficient entries there is a £20 prize for winning an £10 for the runner-up. With the long evenings, why not have a twilight after work for just a £10 green fee - better than watching Charlton lose in the play-offs. Good luck tonight to Kinda Easy in the 3rd round of the Derby. He runs in the 8.45 at Wimbledon and if you look around you can get odds of 9/2 on him winning and completing a great hat-trick of wins. As for winning the Derby, his odds have come down to 150 to 1 (worth a punt). Let's hope we see Daren Johnson on Sky Sports next Tuesday evening!!
8 May |
Shoreham lose - but Kinda Easy wins!! Hoebridge won the first four matches in the match with us today to claim victory. However the final two matches went our way, so all to play for in the reverse fixture in August. I hope a few of you took notice of the message below and had a punt on Kinda Easy tonight. For the second race running he came from behind down the final straight to win his heat (at 10/1). You will not be able to get 300/1 any more on him repeating the feat of his brother last year winning the Final.
(Kinda Easy after winning last year's St Ledger)
8 May |
Good luck to Kinda Easy who runs in the 2nd round of the Greyhound Derby at Wimbledon at 9pm tonight. His impressive 1st round victory did not seem to count for much as he is currently 12/1 to win this heat - probably due to his dodgy trap draw (4). You can still back him to follow in his brother's paw prints and win the Derby at 300/1 (worth a fiver each way!!). The first 3 go through to the next round. The Shoreham team are away at Hoebridge today playing in the second club match of the season.
3 May |
Well done to Colin Hartigan on scoring a fantastic 45 Stableford points in testing conditions to win the Roger Holland Trophy by a distance. Don't forget that the Club's next away match is on Saturday 8 May against Hoebridge - 11.00 brunch.
1 May |
Congratulations to Daren Johnson on his greyhound 'Kinda Easy' winning his heat and going through to the second round of this years Derby. His starting price tonight was a great 10/1 (but not as good as the 14/1 some of us got in the morning!!) Daren, that's another drink I owe you mate. This partly makes up for last year's winner 'Kinda Ready' having to pull out through injury.
25 April |
Well done to John Ouzman and Len Longhurst on winning the Miller Cousins Trophy. You guys should try playing off 6 and 11 permanently!!
25 April
Don't forget that the next club match is looming. It is on Saturday away to Hoebridge. 11.00 'brunch' for 12.00 Tee-off. Commiserations to Ron Tuckey on coming second (behind me) in the April Stableford. |
