About the Club

 

Our club is based at The Darenth Country Club near Shoreham Village in Kent.  It's only a 10 minute drive from the M25.  There are some stunning views to be enjoyed on many of the holes.  Facilities include the 18-hole golf course, practise putting green, practise area, nets, teaching bays, clubhouse and pro shop.  

 

There is also a suite of function rooms and accommodation that can be hired for a wide range of events eg weddings, wedding receptions and special occasions.  A change of ownership in 2016 has led to many improvements being made to the course and its facilities.  A lot of money and work has been put into improving the course, from the sculptured fairways to the exquisite greens.  Work will continue to make the course even better in the future.  The clubhouse has had a major refurbishment and there are improvements to the car park and grounds with more to come in the near future.

Membership

 

Membership of Shoreham (Kent) Golf Club runs from 1 January to 31 December.  You can, however, join the club at any time during the year (subscription calculated on a pro-rata basis).  The application process is quick and simple.  Application forms can be found at the golf course or you can contact any committee member or use the form in the New Member Information Pack.

 

The membership subscription for 2022 is only £140 for adult members.  We also have a specially reduced membership rate  for Senior Citizens (over 65 on 1 January 2022) of just £110 for the year.  Most of the annual subscription goes towards the impressive range of prizes on offer every 'major' competition, for monthly Medal and Stableford prizes and a range of other events.

 

Discounts  of £2 on normal green fees apply to Shoreham members.  A number of our members have opted to join The Darenth's 'Season Ticket' (subscription) scheme.  Make a one-off payment or pay quarterly and you don't have to worry about paying green fees at all as well as saving a considerable amount of money over the year if you are a regular player at the course - play every day if you are able!  Subscribers currently receive a 'welcome gift' pack.

 

Shoreham is always glad to welcome new members - men and women of any age or standard.  It's a great way to get a 'proper' golf handicap (if you haven't got one already), to make new friends and take part in great competitions and social events throughout the year.

 

Club Competitions

 

The SKGC Committee organises a range of competitions and matches throughout the year.  In total, there are over 50 competitions you can play in throughout the year.  Full details of these competitions and matches can be found on this website, which is updated on a regular basis.

 

If there isn't a competition taking place on a specific weekend, then there will always be an 8am or 9am Saturday morning 'swindle' between a group of members to keep your hand in.There is also a Saturday Swindlle WhatsApp group to chat to your fellow golfers.
